Feature Requests

SeaDrive on Windows has "Always keep on this device" so it's guaranteed local and survives cache eviction. SeaDrive on macOS at the same version (3.0.21) has no equivalent. Only "Download Now" (one-shot, evictable) and "Remove Download". Cached files can be silently evicted by the cache cleaner with no way for the user to prevent it. This is feature parity gap, not a new feature. Same product, same Pro license. Every comparable client supports pinning natively (iCloud, OneDrive, Dropbox, Google Drive, Box). The macOS File Provider API supports it, and macOS Sequoia made the Finder integration straightforward. It's been requested on the forum since 2020 with no real response. Please prioritise.

This would be the best update ever! I'm currently trying to decide which workaround is best, but I'd love it to work natively (yes through cloudflare)

Nowadays nearly all browsers support .avif image format. However, the Seafile web-client doesn't show these images with "Online view is not applicable to this file format" which is shame. Same for JPEG XL .jxl images, although, support of these are barely included within browsers so that is understandable, but would be nice to have as well.

On the current Android app, folder can only be synchronized to a single library, with a single "policy" i.e. set of settings for synchronization. I would love to have the ability to sync certain folders to specific libraries, with their own set of policies. E.g. Folder A --> synchronized to Library X, using WIFI only (large files) Folder B --> synchronized to Library Y, using WIFI + mobile data (small files) This allows me to synchronize my local messenger app backups (large, multi-gigabyte files) over WIFI, while smaller notes and textfiles get synced directly for direct availability at other Seafile clients.

Currently, the linux CLI client only enables download of entire libraries. I would like to be able to download only a specific subfolder/file from a library. Example where you only download the Photos/2025 subfolder: seaf-cli download -l "id" -f "Photos/2025/"
